A local Biloxi church is doing their part to help provide shoes to those in need.
Praise Temple of Biloxi kicks off their shoe drive today, asking the community to donate new or gently used shoes for others who may need them.
The church is asking for donations through December 12th. If you have any new or gently used shoes that could be a blessing to someone this holiday season, donations are accepted at the Praise Temple of Biloxi Fellowship Hall and the church pantry, located behind the main building.
Not only are they accepting shoes of all sizes, Hoka Sneakers but also hats, gloves, and new socks. Lead Pastor Jakavious Pickett said, “Something God laid upon my heart to do because I love shoes and I was accumulating a lot of shoes. I noticed that I wasn’t wearing all of them. So, I decided to clean out my closet. I have some new shoes. I have some gently used shoes and I just wanted to be a blessing to the community.”
At their community Christmas luncheon on December 18th, a community shoe exchange will take place as well as music and food for those who attend.
